A new Journey

So, first off, I want to thank Liz for introducing me to this idea of 'blogging'. Kinda sounds nerdy, but what a great way for me to keep family and close friends posted on this new journey!

Here is how the journey began:

Monday October 13th 2008, 9am - My step sister, Carolyn calls my cell phone at work. Apparently she had a dream the night before that I was pregnant and she was calling me to see if it was true - because as she said, her dreams are always right! Well at the time I told her I wasn't and that I was going to see Aunt Flow that week. I knew she was on the way because I was having cramps every day!

Friday October 24th 2008, On our way to Tennessee!
During our 8 hour car ride with the Weisenborn's, Heather made a comment about how forgetful/goofy I was acting and said that maybe I was pregnant and that forgetfulness is a sign of pregnancy. I told her no way, I have been having cramps everyday and except to see Aunt Flow this weekend in Tennessee.

Saturday November 1rst - Akron Ohio
Nate and I are having a nice dinner at Bricco in downtown Akron. During the course of our meal I drank a Martini which prompted Nate to say. "You know, it really has been awhile now...maybe you shouldn't have another drink." I agreed that it had been a while, but I wasn't sure how long and his comment really got me thinking. After that I sat with him at Barley's while he drank and watched football, and I decided on our way home we would get a pregnancy test.

First stop Walgreens - closed, CVS - closed, Giant Eagle was our 3rd stop with numerous tests and I had no idea which one to pick! We decided to go with First Response b/c I remember seeing TV ads and thought it seemed reputable, plus they gave you 3 sticks! Who could argue with that deal!

Well, we go back to my Mom and Step Dad's house and I took the test. The Negative line is shinning, brightly in my face and if I were to get out a microscope, I could swear that there was a really faint 2nd line...We went to bed so confused.

The next morning I take the 2nd test, again the Negative line is so bright and the positive line is a bit more apparent but still faint. So I take the 3rd test, same thing. Now I'm freaking out and confused. So I decide to lay out all 3 tests on the kitchen table and show my Mom. Once she saw them she goes, "what that?" "what is that" and then starting jumping up and down with excitement. She ran to get her glasses and gleaming with joy and then she saw the tests and said, "Oh, they're negative". I told her to look closer and the faint second line and then she was confused! So off to the grocery again to buy a more reliable test! This time we chose EPT, I got home, ran upstairs and took the test. I made Nate stand in the bathroom with me while I wanted to see the results. When it said "pregnant" I didn't know what to think. So I said to Nate, "Okay, do you want to see what it says?" I gave him the stick and he looked shocked but got a big smile on his face. Seeing the word, pregnant really made everything a lot more real than some dumb line! We took the stick downstairs to show my Mom and she was freaking out!!!! I waited another hour and took the 2nd EPT test just to make sure that it had the same result, and it did. Below is a picture of us holding the tests right after we found out. I look really excited and very nervous!!
